A Different Batch

I made a new batch of salve for cuts and scrapes yesterday and decided to do something a little different. I honestly don't know why other than my intuition told me to.

Instead of straining off my herbs, I left them in the salve. I've been making this for years and it's healed alot of ouchies but for some reason I needed to change it. I also added plantain into it this time.

Isn't it funny how you've done something the same way for years whether it's a habit or tradition then suddenly you get this urge to change something about it? Has that ever happened to you?? lol I'm hoping my intuition had the idea of making it better and not messing it up.

Here is my recipe if you want to make some:

In a small hotpot or saucepan if you don't have one pour:

1 cup of jojoba or almond oil

With a mortar and pestle grind a good pinch of:

lavender buds
yarrow
callendula
comfrey
plantain

Add herbs to the oil and let it simmer for 4 to 5 hours. Unplug the hotpot or turn off the heat. Here is where you can either strain the herbs out or keep them in. To strain them use cheese cloth or a coffee filter.

Add:
2 T melted beeswax
liquid from 2 capsules of vitamin E
8 drops of tea tree ess. oil
4 drops lavender ess. oil
2 drops peppermint ess. oil

Mix it all really well and pour into a sterilized jar. Cap it tight and store in the refrigerator.

Whenever anyone has an ouchie, just apply this salve and bandage.

Blessed Be,
Tamara

  2. Can I buy some of your Salve? I don't really need a large lot and I hate to buy all the stuff to make a small quantity.
